Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
20+ years experience as Senior Programer and Technical Business Analyst for MindWare and Apte, Inc.. Built games and interactive tutorials on Windows, MacOS and Wireless platorms. John is the founder for the Twin Cites iPhone Developers Group. His development skills include PHP, .NET, SQL, HTML/CCS, JavaScript, Objective C and an array of other programming languages. John graduated from Northwestern University in Computer Studies.
Sarah Young
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Sarah is the visionary behind Rock Your Block. She is extremely involved in both the entrepreneurial and technology community of the Twin Cities, and she has served on the boards for BizLounge and Project Skyway. Her experience in the technology industry includes specialization in SaaS applications, M2M solutions, and marketing and channel management for technology products. She graduated from the Carlson School of Management in 2010.
Steven Ladin

With 16+ years of extensive entrepreneurial, business management, marketing, business development and brand management experience, Steven Ladin has showcased his successes with multiple start-ups, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions and personally managed a $40,000,000+ portfolio of real estate assets. Mr. Ladin is also an award-winning pioneer in digital PR/social media within his professional field and a highly regarded relationship connector.
Caryn Evans
Community Outreach Director
Receiving many community service awards as a teen herself, including the Hugh O’Brien Youth Foundation Award, Caryn brings 20+ years of teaching experience to Rock Your Block. Caryn has taught both typical students and children with special needs; ranging from infants all the way to college level students. Caryn is also proficient in teaching American Sign Language.
Blake Faris
Director of Technology
With a Computer Engineering degree from Iowa State University, Blake Faris has a high aptitude of specialization in web development. Blake’s experience includes serving as front-end developer for Best Buy, client and server side web development for Carlson Companies and Thomson Reuters. Skill-set includes Java, Spring, PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, HTML, JSP, Velocity, Tiles, RichFaces, JSF, and server/client side development.
